BLIS (Bachelor of Library and Information Science)

Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) is a 1-year (2 semesters) undergraduate professional degree program designed to train students in the principles and practices of library science, information management, and documentation techniques.

It combines traditional library methods with modern information technology, preparing graduates to manage libraries, digital repositories, and information centers effectively.

CURRICULUM

Graduation in any discipline (Arts, Science, Commerce, etc.) with at least 45% marks

  • To provide knowledge of library organization, management, and classification.

  • To train students in cataloguing, indexing, and digital archiving.

  • To develop skills in information retrieval, database management, and digital libraries.

  • To prepare professionals for both academic libraries and modern information centers.

  • Librarian / Assistant Librarian (schools, colleges, universities, public libraries).
